Barranquilla Carnival (El Carnaval de Barranquilla)

The El Carnaval de Barranquilla is the most famous Carnival in Colombia and is the second largest in South America. This week long celebration has been proclaimed by UNESCO as one of the 28 "Masterpieces of the oral and intangible heritage of Humanity". The Barranquilla Carnival is held 4 days before Ash Wednesday to 4 days afterwards. The Carnival is extremely popular and draws in many tourists, so make your reservations early!
