Medellin is an incredibly beautiful city that is blessed with some of the best weather in the World! Known as the City of Eternal Spring, the Temperature is from 53 to 68 year round.

Medellin is a beautiful, luscious green city of just under 3 million inhabitants. At 5,036 ft above sea level, Medellin average temperature is a comfortable 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Medellin is considered by many to be the most economically and culturally advanced city of Colombia. Medellín is an international business center for fashion, textiles, flowers (Colombia is the second largest supplier to cut flowers to the U.S., after China), clothing and leather goods.

Medellin also has the most modern metro mass transit system in Colombia. This metro system consist of a central train line that is connected to an extensive bus system. For the steeper slopes, a cable car system has been installed.

Feria Taurina de la Candelaria (Festival of the Bulls)

Where: La Macarena Stadium
Opening Hours: 3:30pm every Saturday for six weeks with two special evening events.

Every year at the end of January and the beginning of February the very best Matadors in the world come to show off their skills at Medellin's beautifully restored Macarana stadium. During these six Saturday afternoons, the streets, bars and restaurants of the Zona Rosa area around the stadium will be full of spectators partying and enjoying the festive mood!
Semana Santa (Easter Holy Week)
When: Every April
Where: La Macarena Stadium
Opening Hours: 3:30pm every Saturday for six weeks with two special evening events.

Medellin celebrates the Easter Holy Week with the ten day Semana Santalasts festival. The festivities and observances fall over a four day long weekend in Medellin, so everyone celebrates!
The Holy Week of Easter is the most important Catholic religious festival in South America. Ending on Easter Sunday (Domingo de la Resurrección), Semana Santa celebrates the last days of Christ's life, the Crucifixion and Resurrection, as well as the end of Lent. Semana Santa is observed with a range of celebrations, from the most solemnly religious, to a mix of pagan and Catholic, to commercial.

With over 450 Colombian and international exhibitors, Colombiamoda is the most important annual fashion event in South America. Held in and around the Centro Internacional de Convenciones Plaza Mayor in Medellín, this fashion event draws in visitors from Latin America, Europe, the United States and the Far East. Organized by fashion promoter Inexmoda, Colombiamoda has taken place every year since 1990.
This year there are products shown for men, women, teens and children in formal, casual, underwear, sportswear and swim wear, as well as supplies for fashion dealers, machinery and all the other services related to the fashion sector. A host of related events take place alongside the fair, including daily catwalk shows.
La Feria de Las Flores (the Medellin Festival of Flowers)
When: First 2 weeks of August
Where: Medellín

Colombia is the second largest exporter of cut flowers to the U.S. To promote and celebrate the flower industry, Medellin hosts the Festival of Flower the first two weeks of August every year. The Festival of Flowers has been going strong since 1957 and is the city's most important cultural event.
One of the highlights of the fair is the Desfile de Silleteros, where processions of campesinos move slowly through Medellin with large wooden constructions on their backs, each decorated elaborately with flowers of every color and fragrance. The crowds get are enthusiastic, so be prepared for serious elbow work to get a good vantage point. The biggest parade takes place every year on 11 August, which is a local holiday.
Los Alumbrados (Festival of the Lights)

Where: Medellín

In December, the city of Medellín puts on a spectacular display of holiday lights that is one of South Americans most popular attractions. The lights are illuminated from mid December to mid January. The most impressive parts are centered around the Rio Medellin at the 'puente de Guayaquil'. Large statues made of lights can be found throughout the city.
