The twice elected President, Mr. Uribe, has been able to transform Colombia into one of the safest tourist destinations in South America.  While tourism to Colombia has quadrupled recently, it is still significantly below traditional tourist destinations such as Mexico or Costa Rico. In fact, in many Colombian Cities, it is common to go all day without seeing an American or European tourist!

What Colombia Offers
Colombia is located at the top of South America and is the gateway between Central America and South America. Panama is located to the North and Colombia's Pacific Coast is the west and Colombia's Caribbean Coast line is to the east.
The popular cities of Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta are located on Colombia's Caribbean Coast.
What many Americans are not aware of is that the Andes mountain range terminates in Colombia. In fact, the Andes split into 3 mountain ranges in Colombia. This means that major Colombian cities such as Medellin, Bucaramanga, Manizales, Cali and Bogota are all situated in the Andes Mountains.
And last, but not least, to the South of Colombia is the Amazon basin.
